Make no mistake, Olbermann isn't criticizing Griffin for moral depravity of act. He is criticizing her PR campaign in the aftermath because it isn't playing well with the American people and, in his warped mind, this helps Trump who he perceives as his mortal enemy. There is no altruism in his stance.

I fail to see how being empathetic with others classifies as that. Unless its even worse than I thought and considering other viewpoints associated with diversity of thought causes liberals mental and emotional trauma that they have to continually suffer for the sake of the greater good.

Lets give you examples.

1. The peppered moth

"Originally, the vast majority of peppered moths (Biston betularia) had a light, mottled coloring which was a good camouflage against predators. Before the industrial revolution, a uniformly dark variant of the peppered moth made up 2% of the species. After the industrial revolution, 95% of peppered moths showed this dark coloration. The best explanation as to why this change in the species occurred is that the light moths lost their advantage of camouflage as light surfaces were darkened by pollution, and so light moths were eaten more frequently by birds. The peppered moth as an example of evolution has been attacked recently, usually as to the cause of the shift in coloration, but the example still stands as a major shift in a species caused by mutations leading to variation and natural selection"

So, you see, the peppered moth evolved due to a state of continued difficulty. The adversity caused the transformation. You still with me?

2. Desegregation

Eventually, people in diverse areas with diverse thinking came to an agreement that segregation, based on race or color, was wrong.

The men and women of the south gekd out in many areas which is where stories like Ernest Green come from.

The continued adversity of this segregation brought about an eventual change.

Etc.

There are so many more but basically, diversity can create more adversity in the sense that more voices and opinions are trying to be heard or have their ideas noticed. Evolution does not occur without the need to do so
