Yea, this entire story is just dumb. As someone who has done extensive travel for government work. You can attend events, go out to eat or be a tourist on your own dime. They are very strict about auditing your expenditures when you return and file your travel for your gtc.

BTW: I suspect his visit was also in regards to the Italian defense/aerospace company Leonardo SpA and their military satellite that were purportedly used to remotely hack U.S. voting machines in coordination with Dominion during the 2020 election.
This would make sense if true as Trump has been talking about delivering irrefutable evidence to that end in 2026.
