He was impeached by his own party for corruption. Not ideal.

I don’t see why you’re attacking Rove personally, especially when your assertion is false. It would have been easy for Rove to say nothing on this issue and take no heat. Instead, he takes a principled stand and has more nativist types, mostly within his own party, angry with him. Rove may be right or wrong on the merits—which have been variously defined—but this was hardly gutless.
