When Major Biden died in 2015, he was posthumously awarded a Legion of Merit.

The problem with that is that a Legion of Merit is almost exclusively reserved for Colonels and above, Command Sergeants Major at the 2-star and higher level, and CW4 and above Warrant Officers with 25+ years of service.

Lieutenant Colonels with 25+ years in and 6 deployments get Meritorious Service Medals as retirement awards.

So how the frick do they justify a Major with 12-years in and 1 deployment having such an impact on the Service that he is worthy of a LOM.

That is effectively spitting in the face of almost all 20+ year retirees, diminishing our service, and cheapening the award and shame on the GO who signed his name to that DA form 638.

Had he received an MSM, there would be no issue.

Why not? Joe's killed him half a dozen different ways.

Should we tell him about LBJ's Silver Star?

OP - I generally agree with your sentiment, but politically motivated bloated awards are certainly not monopolized by the Left or by the Bidens.

So it is possible that he did actually do something worthy of the Legion of Merit. If you are seriously concerned, do a FOI request for his Legion of Honor citation.

Dude's upset that his Lifetime Achievement of Merit isn't what he thought it was.

If you served in the Army or National Guard at any time between 1980-2024, you know it's not possible for a Major to earn a Legion of Merit (a PEACETIME Award)

No, it's not really possible. The OP is right. It's just not worth making a big deal out of it.

Sounds like a great election strategy for Trump. He should go with it.

Joe constantly hides behind him. He’s more useful to Joe dead than he ever was alive.

I’d say that makes him fair game.
