Japan actually does have a homeless population
Spent about 10 days in Tokyo and Kyoto recently. I saw 3 homeless people in Tokyo. I saw them in the same spots all week, which were all near the train station. While they were obviously homeless, they were clean, did not approach anyone or panhandle. One guy just sat in a chair reading a book all day.
Tokyo is about the 3rd largest metro area in the world and I saw less homeless people in a week, than I do in a day in Baton Rouge.
The comparison to the United States is shocking. The cleanliness, the trust, the low crime. It's one of the best places I've ever visited.
In 2024 there were 970 homicides in the entire country of Japan - population 125 million.
In 2024, there were 495 homicides in Louisiana - population 4.6 million

or panhandlers on the streets anywhere. For a city as big as it is, it felt clean and safe everywhere we went. Why do liberals want to trash our cities with bums and filth?
Name some other things you didn't see and there's your answer.

In 10 days in Japan, I saw a dozen black people.
1. About 5 Nigerians street hustling outside of bars, trying to get you to come into the club. Similar to Bourbon Street. This was in kind of a seedy area. We never went into any of those bars.
2. About 5 tourists, likely Americans
3. A couple of American service men.

You mean there are no BLM, No Kings, Free Palestine, Illegal Immigrants Against Ice protest? Where are the commies, black and brown people?
The Japs must be racist and fascist!!
There's a group of "far right" older guys (that's what Japanese label them - not my term) wearing pseudo-combat gear who drive around in buses at touristy spots and blast anti-immigrant and anti-tourist propaganda in rude fashion. The police will let them go for a bit, but will eventually shut them down. They've been doing this for at least 25 years.

Japan spends 21.5% of GDP on social welfare systems that include universal health-care, public assistance that covers living and housing costs, a national pension, and elderly care
The United States spends approximately 22.7% of its GDP on public social expenditure (welfare), according to 2022 OECD data, placing it near the OECD average. When factoring in private social benefits (like employer-provided health insurance), the U.S. ranks higher, at nearly 30% of GDP
and we still have bums.

"Their learning centers".........Son has lived, and married, in Japan for 8+ years. He teaches English to Japanese kids . For the most part, middle income families. He says that teachers for children in general are university level professors. Their emphasis is on high quality teachers & their pay is commiserate.
