Judicial Watch sues California to remove 800,000 inactive voters.

Judicial Watch announced today it filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of a California political candidate and a state political party against the State of California due to its failure to maintain accurate voter rolls as required by the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) (Don Wagner et al. v. Shirley N. Weber, in her official capacity as California Secretary of State (No. 8:26-cv-01263)).
Federal law requires most inactive voter registrations to be removed after two general federal elections. The new federal lawsuit alleges, based on admissions in prior Judicial Watch litigation, that 873,092 voter registrations have remained continuously inactive for at least three federal elections, and some for much longer. Of these registrations, 326,808 have remained continuously inactive through at least three consecutive federal general elections, while 151,202 have remained inactive through at least four consecutive federal general elections.
In addition, 33,922 voter registrations have remained continuously inactive through at least five consecutive federal general elections — dating back at least ten years, to before the November 5, 2016, presidential election.
Under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA), states are required to make reasonable efforts to remove ineligible voters from the voter rolls, including those who have died or moved. The lawsuit also alleges, again citing admissions by California officials, that the state takes no effective action to require counties to comply with the NVRA. As a result, they do not comply.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Don Wagner, an elected member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors and candidate for California Secretary of State, and the American Independent Party of California.

To put this into perspective, the City of Inactive, Dead, and Missing, California has now become the 4th largest city in the state of California with a population of 873,092, surpassing San Francisco. It only trails L.A., San Diego, and San Jose in population density and it’s been rumored that Gov. Newsom is in the process of attempting to tax them as well.

Since you put it in perspective…holy shite!
And…It’s probably worse than that.

I’m glad to see this happening. It is the battle that must be fought and won. I freaking received two mail in ballots this cycle. One using my full middle name and another that used my middle initial. I cannot to you why that happened but it tracks exactly with what I’ve seen previously when I worked on the voter rolls.

Records show they have voted in the last 6 elections so therefore are not inactive voters by definition.

You hear the argument that many states have had mail in for years and they have. In Alabama you have to request one, along with photocopy of ID with address and I believe a bill showing your name and address has well, water or power.
You then receive the ballot, which must be witnessed.
In other words its designed for you to get off your arse and go vote in person.
How on earth can you have a fair election in Cali. You now electronically fill out your own info at the DMV and must check a box that you are illegal, otherwise you will receive a ballot in the mail. There are numerous instances where ballots are just stacked in mailrooms of apt complexes, etc. Its a joke.
This is where the federal govt should be allowed to intervene, its a violation of everyone's civil rights who vote to have this nonsense allowed.

As Scott Bessent said yesterday, Gavin Newsom is in over his hairdo.

That's listing inactive. Would be pretty easy to grab 50k votes from that list, if needed

I just receive ballots in the mail in Colorado. A lot of times I vote by mail due to travel for work. It is becoming more and more common in the blue states. I am so disappointed in Colorado.
