The best way to handle these Tech monopolies is to get the Justice Dept involved and break their monopolies up just like they did to AT&T and Standard Oil. Legislation is worthless since they will find a way to skirt the laws and continue to censor conservatives.

Nope.
And, that's why I'm not in here throwing my ignorant arse opinion about his memo on the walls.
ETA: I had to be more specific about what ignorant arse opinion I wasn't throwing on the walls.

The GOP is literally watching and doing nothing as Big Tech squelches dissent from neoliberal and neocon orthodoxy. Trump is either compromised or is clueless, otherwise, how does one explain his failure to make this one of the top issues? Why oh why did he have to put his trust in Reince Preibus, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell?

The deep state and google has something on EVERYBODY. And they'll use it !

Thanks for posting. I'll read the whole thing later. Yep, I heard three GOPers that were obviously sell outs -
One I posted about here:
LINK /
Wisconsin Republican Rep. F James Sensenbrenner Jr. - Wisconsin
The other two were:
Kelly Armstrong - ND
and ... right now I forget the other. I'll post when I think of him ... Sell outs.

Well, I heard he turned a blind eye to BFs in Ohio. Now he is giving it to us.

I don't know the details but republicans can't do much about it right now. Can't get a bill about Big Tech anti-trust out of the house right now.
He might just be keeping his powder dry in case Republicans/Conservatives win back the House. I can't think of any other reason because he has been targeted by Facebook, Twitter, etc... many times. You know he must be pissed but can they actually do anything about it right now?
No that is BS. It would be easy to negotiate a bill write now. MOST Republicans do not want to - most of them are owned by the US Chamber of Commerce. MOST of them don't understand technology.
As I posted in another thread - Sensenbrenner's #2 contributor was Google in 2018. Google search IS A MONOPOLY. NOBODY TODAY ARGUED that it was not.
We all know that their is bias at Google Facebook and Twitter.
Apple CEo held his ground well. The others are scumbags.
Op was right - sell out.

So, because he shreds the DEMs he is right on this issue?
Do some homework.
Do some homework.

3. Many Democrats seek to use opportunities to change antitrust law as an opening to undo a century’s worth of legal precedents that gave rise to greatest economy in history and to Europeanize the American business climate
Translation - Jordan is not a Bill of Rights guy, just part of the Bill of Rights - the parts he likes. #3 means - I do not care what they are doing - theft of personal financial and medical data - no problem. But, I will grandstand and say how bad they are. That will get me votes.
Do you think that things that are illegal offline should be illegal online? What about the China scams on Amazon - ok with that? I suspect you do not know the topic. But, I'd be open to hearing more than one line from you. Inform us.
#4 Pursuant to existing law, each of these companies is already subject to numerous investigations –these investigations are ongoing and we should trust the Trump Administration and Attorney General Barr to bring appropriate enforcement actions
Trump has been in office 3 1/2 years - no action. I like Barr, and IF he does something, I'll be in full support. Until then, just more hot air from A Republican.
The DEMS will not do anything either as too many of them get funded by Big Tech.

he is concerned about bias - but does not plan to do anything about it.
One Republican today said that the FTC needs to handle it - what a joke. The Constitution did not provide for a 4th branch of government. That is what the FTC is - non-elected bureaucrats.

While there is some merit to this, there a basically are no serious laws regarding the Internet. Theft of personal data is rampant - even medical and financial data. When there is a breach of data, they get a slap on the wrist. How about the sharing of our Social Security numbers to make it easy for data theft - including overseas? How about the late 1980s law that states that the FBI can read your emails as long as they are older than 6 months old? I could go on and on.
Barr and the state AGs need to move now, but some of the DEM state AGs are holding things up, likely because pressure from national DEMs. If this does not happen under Barr, don't expect anything serious to happen for a while.

I am so disgusted with the Republican Party.
They’re a poor representation of Conservatives.
And they’re the reason this once-Republican no longer affiliates with a political party (though I’m forced to vote for their candidates until a better alternative emerges).
If the GOP ever collectively finds its way back to a conservative ideology, I’ll reconsider my support, via time and treasure.

Yes, it is time to bust up the national two party sustem. That will be hard to do, but one way is to not vote a straight ticket. Send a message to select candidates their days a re numbered. In Alabama, Martha Roby is not running for reelection - I think she is planning to run for state office. The person she endorsed got crushed. When you know they are going to win, bit they are BAD, don't vote for them.

you cite a 39 page memo. Can you post some quotes from that memo that support your position that Jordan sold out?
