“Well, I have believed it was important to have a fresh start at the FBI, and actually, it was in my letter to the president when I recommended Comey's removal. I used the words, 'fresh start,' and the FBI director is Chris Wray, a very talented, smart, capable leader.

“I think it will give them an opportunity to go straight to the American people and say, ‘we are gonna win your confidence,’ ” he said.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Jeff Sessions. A first.

Same. Sad part is that it's just words and he actually hasn't done anything great as AG that's memorable. He's focused on issues that were relevant in the 1930s during the era of "Reefer Madness."

This ruins CNN and the MSM's headlines that POTUS Trump obstructed justice firing Comey doesn't it?

True.

However, Jeff Sessions can't be a part of that fresh start. He's almost as swampy as the rest.

Wray is already showing signs of pure swamp in helping the FBI and DOJ stonewall congress as they conduct their constitutionally mandated oversight role.

I suppose it does when words cease to have meaning. Does it contradict trumps actual words when he said i fired comey over russia?

Agreed.

The taint of corruption is too thick right now. Guilty or not, the top 4 levels of the FBI need to be turned over in the next 6-12 months. The perception of corruption is going to be a lasting stink that the FBI is going to have to work to get away from, and if they aren't changing the guard wholesale, I don't see how it ever really goes away.

Hey, Sessions said this last week and it is now making the news. We were all wondering where he was in all of this...

The way I look @ it is... at least the keebler elf said something.

And I am still not sure if Wray is swamp or not

In order to have a fresh start, the old corrupted pieces of the deep state must be punished and replaced if need be.

It's only been ten months, and he cannot do anything memorable until the BHO FBI hold-overs clear DJT on the BS Russian charges. Once that happens, Katie bar the door.

It's just talk.

Show me the action.

Screaming at the President and Congress to not release the memo and covering up for seditious actors in McCabe and the FBI lovers and threatening to quit if one of them is fired isn't swamp to you?

Not true. Think. Sessions risked everything to work with Trump (and against the establishment Rs and HRC) from the very start and stood with him through the primaries and cat-grabbing. He's solid.

The FBI has to clear DJT before JBS can do anything, otherwise MSM screams coup. We think we know who is guilty. DJT and JBS damn well know. Can you imagine the galactic melt if JBS started indicting everyone culpable three months in?

Firing everybody above a certain grade would be a great start

Part of a “fresh start” would be turning over management to clear th deadwood involved in shite under the last administration.

Neat.

What has he done for us lately besides sitting on his arse and doing nothing of note at all?

If this were the private sector and he did't have 51 GOP senators protecting him, his arse would've been gone months ago.

Ehhh...

He was smart to back Trump, but he didn't exactly have much to lose.

Sessions was an irrelevant, back bench bomb thrower who couldn't move up in the Senate. He wasn't ever in the same stratosphere as Shelby when it came to raising money, power, influence, jobs for Alabama. Shelby was the man who earned the money, while Sessions was the weasely little hack who would have sold his soul to be a big "swamp creature" before Trump.
