This is an argument Democrats have made many times over.

100% on board with all of it. Dems will fight it tooth-and-nail, though.

Voting is a right

if you have to pay for it it’s not a right

I’ll say this

Louisiana has had ID laws and Voting Machines and everything seems to work pretty well.

But only sometimes, correct? You're OK with class warfare on our rights when you don't think we should have them.

I certainly would support a return to paper ballots and in-person voting but regulating voting is an issue properly left to the individual States. Yet hell no to a mandated Federal holiday on election day.

Voting should be promoted as a simple civic responsibility, not some high Holy Day with quasi-religious undertones. These bastards have a high enough opinion of themselves as it is.

you want free bullets?

I was gonna say the next time someone’s vote leads to 30 school kids getting shot we can’t talk

but that’s pretty much what happens when conservatives vote now.

Let's start with removing the tax on them. Same with firearms and that includes the "totally not a tax" fees associated with exercising that right.

Why do ID’s need to be free?

The questions why should they cost you anything. We pay taxes to run the gov't! Why should they charge us to do their damn job. We already paid for it.

I'm going to disagree on the Holiday idea.

Like alot of federal Holidays (MLK, Presidents Day, Columbus Day, etc) It won't be one of the standard Holidays that the private sector will get off. But it will he a Holoday for all public employees, and employees for non-profits, and education.

The demographic that will get the day off will significantly favor Democrats. Something to think about.

Voting kills more people than firearms ever could.

This is clickbait bullshite. 2/3 of the states have to vote for amendments to the Constitution. 2/3 of the states aren't going to do this. Downvote all you want. It's true.

Thank you! I must be on an island, but the obsession with everyone voting is so overblown. I'm not saying we should hide resources from people on how to vote, but simply put, not everyone needs to or should be voting. The well-informed and civicly engaged people are who we need voting. Not lazy mother Fers who can't plan there day we'll enough to stop at their local precinct on their way to work to vote.

Something needs to be done to keep these states from counting ballots weeks and weeks after elections. They stealing seats in house and senate.

Great idea. It is funny that the dems who claim IDs are racist (although they have never explained how and why) demanded an ID from the Dept. of Education security guy. They also required an ID to enter their party's convention. Mexico has a national voted ID with thumb print. Is that racist also?

Well, if the polls open at 5am that might work. Or stay open till 9pm.
A lot of us work 12s. I'm 7a to 7p.
Bossmans not gonna like shutting down their 24/7 operations for a shift. And by the time they coordinate letting 200 people take off an hour to go vote and come back... Might as well shut it down anyway.
frickwads can't schedule anything else right.. they'd frick that all up.
