This right here is why Trump was right to want manufacturing back in the US. If shite hits the fan over there and Japan and China go to war then our economy is screwed
Watching those WWII documentaries, American industry was a great powerhouse that quickly generated great military power. Today, a huge part of our supply chain is in China.

Good. Maybe Australia and New Zealand will follow and some progress hemming China in geographically can begin. We’ll have to retake the Solomons to start.

Ole Japan getting Chippy again. Good to see, and glad we'll be fighting together this time around
I would love to see Japan build up their military and check China on the chin. Even cooler would be if you saw a bunch of Southern Boys defend thier Japanese Auto Plant employers factories down south, Bundy ranch style, from China Joe's inevitable seizure for war crimes against his CCP Buddies.

less than 10 years China will replace the US as the worlds dominant superpower. The shift is happening now as we speak. It has started already in nation's attitudes toward China and the US.
The US is losing its position as a hyper power but will remain a superpower. We have lived through a period of unquestioned superiority that was unique in human history

Time to independently research what happened prior to the rape of Nanking. Maybe it was justified.
Yeah, no. The WW2 era Japanese were as barbaric as any society of the last 1000 years on this planet. They were truly evil. I do think they would have left us alone if FDR didn't impose the oil embargo on them though.

There is no love lost between Japan and China. They flat out hate each other. Kind of how I feel about leftists here

We can count on the South Koreans. They’re no fan of China either and know the ramifications if China were to take over the world. Vietnam I’m a bit less sure about since China kind of has them by the balls.
South Korea recently balked at the suggestion of forming an Asian alliance against China. Vietnam, who hates the Chinese (who actually fought a border war with China in 1979), basically told us to leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out. There are very few countries over there that aren't intimidated or haven't been bought by the Chinese bully. Chinese influence among nations that use to work with and listen to the US is growing. It is really picking up steam. Trade and that Belt and Road Initiative are paying dividends for the Chicoms. They have the economy and money now, thanks to US greedy corporations and politicians, that enable them to buy anything or anyone. Many of those countries are reading the tea leaves and looking at the future. Maybe some if their reluctance is putting their trust in a US government that is showing weakness in world affairs: Abandoning Ukraine and retreating in Afghanistan are two examples. I am all for getting out of Afghanistan, but the way Biden is doing it projects weakness (we basically pulled out if that airport recently like a thief in the night- it reminded me of Saigon) and we totally screwed over and pulled the rug from under Ukraine. I guess that is the price for ever trusting the worthless US government. Biden's foreign policy is a disaster just as is his whole administration.

But that also means they have to join Japan. The Japanese ripped them a new a-hole themselves, but when push comes to shove I think the South Koreans will join.

The east is a strange collection of bed fellows.
Japan hates China, Korea hates China, but Japan and Korea also hate each other.
Japan and SK view the United States as “allies” and trading partners but not necessarily “friends”. The moment we seem like we would waffle on defense pacts, that’s the moment they tell us to frick off and rebuild their militaries.
I, personally, would welcome a world with a strong Japanese military.

The Japanese recently enacted measures that would allow them to build up their military. Every since WWII they had self-imposed measures that prevented it. They have cleared the way possibly.

Yeah, what you got to understand about the East is they don’t have the same relationships as we do in the West. While we’d still get pissed at one another and go to war, there was tons of intermarriage among Europe’s elite. They got together all the time even if a war was going down.
Not the case in Asia. It was extremely uncommon, like once in like 400 years that the Japanese and Chinese Royals would do a marriage contract. They all actively hate almost all of their neighbors. They are not polite to them and honestly have a more favorable view of people in the West than of any of their immediate neighbors.
