Admirable honesty, E, seasoned with wisdom. 
But there are tons of people and cultures that correct their unprofitable behavior. In fact, that is Darwinian/Natural Law Principle; it's what got us to this point of psychological complexity...and Love.
The history of the World is one of Slavery; it was no stigma before it became one. All Races accepted this. Even the Bible chides a Slave..."to be a good slave".
We are in a perfect storm. We'll get through it...with a lot of pain. What else is new. Moving up the hard way.

If this nation is so inherently racist, why is calling someone a racist the second worst slur you can use against someone?
Seems like it would be applauded.
Why is it only Western nations (where the populace enjoy the most freedom and greatest equality) that suffer from this guilt?
Go ahead, play this game where we rewrite our history so that we teach our kids that nothing good has ever come from Western civilization. So where this gets us.
Some people love to be masochists. Well, wait until you run into a real sadist and see how you like it. We are heading to a Hellish place real fast.
