But see thats the thing: Anyone who actually feels the need to regularly say "I don't care what you do BUT I refuse to approve of X" actually does care about X. The people who truly don't care about it don't bring it up and don't get defensive when it does get brought up.

It's like people who say "I'm not a racist BUT..." or "No offense BUT...". Someone who truly wasn't racist wouldn't need to regularly preface their statements with such a thing.

The fact is, deep down, gays still really grind the gears of the religious right. Some are vocal about it, some are not, but few are truly as indifferent as some would have us believe.

horseshite. I really don't care what you do. I can even like you as a person if you commit homosexual acts. That is truly between you and your maker. It's called freedom.

Put me down as indifferent up to the point where you demand I support it.

FYI, the last time I got sanctimonious about another person's behavior was over 30 years ago. I was TDY with a buddy who was married with kids and screwing around with a young gal he'd just met. I privately told him it was wrong, and the next time he banged that chick he should think about his sons. The reason I bring this up is because I just got an email from him.

That's the extent of my religious conservative moralizing.
