It appears North Louisiana will finally have a sitting US Senator in 2027.

US Senator Julia Letlow. People forget Gov Landry was ready to make her the LSU President, but she decided she wasn't interested. He then pivoted to President Wade Rousse from Mc Neese State as his next choice.

J. Bennett Johnson was the last., being from Shreveport.
Do they still teach Louisiana history in high school these days?

Johnson's final year was 29 years ago in 1997. Then South Louisiana gave us Mary Landrieu(1997-2015), and then Bill Cassidy(2015-present). It will be nice having North Louisiana represented again.
