Is anyone here surprised these atrocities are taking place? This outcome was pretty inevitable. As far as what to do. I don't think we are in a position to deploy forces. Unless they just deploy special operations only. All the mistakes we have made the last 14 years are coming back to haunt us.

Because these people actually believe in their own twisted religion that calls for the extermination of everyone who doesn't bow to Allah and believe Mohammad is his prophet
They have no fear of death because they believe 72 virgins are waiting for them. They are on a suicide mission, and believe the only way they can please Allah and gain salvation is by waging Jihad
That's what separates Christianity from other religions. God's Grace is enough, meanwhile other religions like Islam its based on works, so many muslims feel like the only way they can do enough for salvation is to wage violent jihad and kill others or themselves in a suicide mission.

These people are absolutely cold blooded and bloodthirsty. Their videos show them not just slaughtering but doing so with sadism and glee.
I'd support US airstrikes on these folks. I believe it's in our interests to do so.

It's not so much a religion issue. When a nation is in a weakened state evil men always rise up and take a position of power. These men are absolutely afraid to die. They seem unstoppable and vicious but the moment good people stand against them and starts putting them in the ground they will show fear. Problem is there is no one in that country that is showing the fortitude to take a stand against them.

Agreed. Something needs to be done. All of these radical Islamic groups have openly stated their goal is to completely erase Jews and Christians and establish a worldwide khalifhat. They won't stop until they succeed or somebody kills them.

It's horrible and it makes our nation look incompetent because we just left there. Air strikes alone will not get the job done. If you put guys in to work with the army with a combination of air strikes then you're on to something. In 2001 400 green berets with some air force CCTs toppled the Taliban govt in 90 days.
I'm not saying we should so this. However if we are going to get involved it's our only effective option. It will be cheaper than another full blown invasion. I don't think Americans want to see any more American blood be shed in that country though. It's just a shame after all the American lives we lost there and this is the outcome.
