If you mean average, rank-and-file pro-welfare state social liberals, yes, they hated Reagan because he failed to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic and constantly referenced God.
If you mean "liberal" politicians, then no. Both parties still made their bread in the US and policies that helped the US helped them.
The formal opposition to Trump, and I'm talking specifically about politicians and their big-money donors, is because the Uniparty makes its money by skullfricking the American worker and the American soldier.
Most of the frickers would gleefully spend $100 million to blow up a bridge in Shitholestan (nevermind the collateral body count) and another $900 million to rebuild it, funneled to their friends, family, and donors, before they spent a dime on protecting the physical, economic, and financial concerns of their voters.

Reagan was great, but he was limited by Bush and the "cabal". Trump learned from Reagan and has assembled his own crew. They tried to off Reagan, but the sumbitch was too tough. Watch his farewell address. He warned us. Some of us listened. Many others did not. Freedom is only a generation away. Trump has been able to accomplish more than Reagan, but Reagan paved the way for Trump. Reagan was ridiculed for being an actor and caught as much shite as Trump has.

I certainly remember Reagan answering questions to Congress with the timeless classic answer, "I have no recollection of that." He sure was lucky to have Ollie North as a fall guy.

Trump is shamelessly shallow with questionable character and embarrassing at times as a leader. You can’t really say that about Reagan.
