I think the proliferation of information far outweighs any negative you can come up with.

No I think it just allows us to see the stupid people that were always there anyways. It gives us a wealth of knowledge and has led to new sources of media not controlled by the MSM. Government can't hide scandals anymore and people largely distrust them due to the information available online.

IMO it will lead to a more informed voter base and more liberty as we begin to question Govt more and more

I think the proliferation of handheld electronic devices is more of a problem. I was thinking about this earlier. I think young people need to spend more time alone with their thoughts, inside their own heads.

The rapid exposure to mass emotion seems to be causing a lot of problems and a big part of this out of control PC/Outrage problem.

We as a society will have to somehow find a way to deal with it I guess by accepting the fact that people are often going to be outraged over anything and that doesn't require some Call To Action.

Otherwise, the access to information (useful info, not Susan B's outrage to this or Tom B's outrage to that) provided by the internet is incredibly beneficial.

Is humanity good?

They say that believing that 'the end justifies the means', is not good. Too problematic, and dangerous. I don't believe it for a second. A good end will justify the burden of a painful means.

The answer to your query remains to be seen in our future. Probably good for some...harmful for others.

...and this is how you end up with things like Mao's great leap forward, the Holocaust and radical Islamic terrorism. It all depends on your perspective as to what is a "good end". The horrors are generally objectively bad.
