Precisely, “oh no he is a populist”. And? “Principled” conservatives have been elected for decades and accomplished nothing
Nope. Populism is why we cannot cut the major part of our spending--SS, Medi, and other transfer payments. That's what voters demand. And they do not elect anyone that wants to do what's needed --cut those programs.

That's the problem with populism. It inherently breeds irresponsibile leaders, that just chase the next "high".

EDIT: An example from this thread:

I would think any rebate checks of $2k or more would go out closer to midterms for obvious reasons.

I think the word you’re searching for is “cheaper”

Happy to help!

This is where I’m at. Pay off debt. Checks to people create inflationary conditions. No way he could actually be considering this as a good idea.

Is a tarriff rebate the same as stimulus? Stimulus is newly printed money. Tarriffs are paid in dollars that already exist
Indeed. Buying votes with voter-paid tax money is one hell of a grift. Watching people being bribed with their own money is But it was super popular during COVID, so why not keep up the grift?

This narrative of, "We HAD to embrace leftist policies as idiot populists, because conservative policies have gotten us nowhere" is the most obviously false, stupidest narrative you guys mindlessly cling to.

Seems there are people in here who maybe didn’t complain about Ukraine funding but now seriously “pissed off” some tariff money may go back into taxpayers pockets

Tariffs are "stimuluses" for big business.

Donny loves stimulus checks.

If they cut spending. Absolutely.

If they dont, its just a stimulus on borrowed money.

Please explain how one becomes more wealthy by paying more for something. Did you offer the dealer over sitcker price last time you bought a car? For "effeciency"?
