That’s not even debatable

If the Dems nominate Biden for 2020, their last 2 Presidential nominees will have supported all of the things I mentioned in my first post.

This is something intellectually weak people say when they can't tell you why you should think as they think. Anyone who fully agrees with their party is a liar, an idiot, or both.

The War on Terror destroyed this country. That's interesting.

Bipartisanship basically means uncontrollable govt spending so yeah I’d say that is bad.

Last time in the last 60 years we had a balanced budget was with a Republican Congress and Democrat President.

Bipartisan works when it is a real bipartisan bill. Bills that are passed with bipartisan support don’t get press or we rarely know about.

A few examples in 2018:
Criminal Justice Bill
Farm Bill
SNAP Bill
2 Bills that involved Virtual Currency

You're under the belief that the Dems didn't know what they were voting for OR that Reps are more hawkish than Dems.......my take is that neither one of these are true.

Bipartisanship gets us:

-Patriot Act
-Deficits
-Iraq War
-FISA
-NSA spying
-Corporate bailouts

Bipartisanship has destroyed this country.
That is one hell of an ignorant post. Bipartisanship in and of itself didn't give us any of those things. The fact that neither side is willing to give up anything for the good of the whole is the problem.

Well, considering the Left have almost to a man become absolutely, batzhit crazy and violent, well forgive us if we aren't in a compromising mood.

You see, the faithful implementation of Leftist ideas leads to a future that resembles either Mad Max, 1984 or Harrison Bergeron.

If bipartisanship means having any association with liberals at all I am firmly against it. They are a bunch of creepy worthless fricks and I have no wish or intention of having anything to do with them.

Unfortunately bipartisan compromise today just means the Republicans will give up more than they should and the Democrats will just come for the rest later

What is something you feel strongly about for which you are willing to meet the “other side” on half way?

That isn't a description that's unique to liberals.

There are fundamental orthodoxies in this country that both parties support regardless of who's in power. Permanent war, deficits and the surveillance state are 3 of those things. It's why establishment Republicans supported Obama's Libyan War and his desire for war in Syria. It's why establishment Dems supported the Iraq War and voted for the Patriot Act. It's why we're $20 trillion in debt. The idea that we're so polarized in this country is largely a façade. The people might be, but the politicians aren't.

The first two years of Obama and Trump didn’t need to have bipartisan support.

First two years of Obama brought in the Tea Party. First two years of Trump caused the Dems to go more to the left.

What was different in Trumps first two years compared to Obama was legislation. Republicans in Congress couldn’t along and only got one major bill passed. It had little to do with bipartisan support, but Republicans fighting each other.

We may dislike Obama and his policies, but he was able to pass more major legislation and pass more bills in his first two years. The reason was because Democrats had less infighting than the GOP.

4 of the last 10 years Congress and the President didn’t need bipartisan support.

I agree, but will add... I think they're are people who have both liberal and conservative ideas, but are not bipartisan about any of them (won't budge).

Given that an authoritarian personality dominates the Right-leaning voter's choice of leadership, one would assume that faithful implementation of Rightist ideas would lead to a future of an authoritarian government.
