Atlas started shrugging in 2009. It just abated for about four years.

Atlas is being castrated and he doesn't seem to realize it or care.

I know my limitations as a poster so I keep the post count down. But what a great book. The exchange between the two primary characters when one asked the other, 'what would you do?' And the answer was a simple one word. 'Shrug.'

So Trump is Gault?

When corrupt politicians, the fed, Wall Street, the banks and corporate welfare socialists took 100% control over the entire system. The entire system was going to collapse and 700 billion was going to save the world. A decade and tens and tens of trillions, the theft is exploding to over a trillion a month and soaring higher.

Trump is Hank Reardon, IMO. He’s far from going on strike just yet.

But, we are living a Randian novel in a bunch of ways.

Hard to think Gates is the intellectual equivalent of the Gault character. But they are so different in their approach to society.

And the more I think, Trump isn't Gault? He pulled away. This guy, like you say, is not on strike by a long shot.

Of course not. Which producers have you seen pick up stakes and leave? As far as I can tell, they are as actively engaged as ever. For frick's sake - Musk just sent a private rocket into orbit with a human payload.

I don’t think Gault has appeared yet.
But if Dagny is real she should run for president.
