Anybody’s system doing symptom- based quarantining (go home if your sick, staying your non-fever and non-symptomatic) ?

Any systems just saying frick it, we’re done with it all together (completely back to normal) ?

My kid just got sent home for the 3rd week out of 4 for contact with someone who got tested. I’m halfway up the tower as I type.

Ours is. They have a double quarantine period for close contact. It's stupid AF and the whole school board is about to be out of a job.

I believe some in LA are allowing exposed kids to stay in school as long as they have no symptoms.

You mean the standard protocol called "common sense" before mass psychosis formation took hold?

We've been following "common sense" in north Georgia since late 2020.

I’ve already gone high and right with our chairman on the cell phone and he’s as dumb about it as a box of bricks about it. I’m burning bridges at record speed this morning, and I gotta admit, it feels rather good.

You likely don’t have a half minority school board that’s scared of dat Rona.

They are doing what is most convenient for them. i.e. They will send kids home for positive test or symptoms, and won't inform parents of other kids that may have had close contact , but if a teacher tests positive with home test or has symptoms, still required to show up.

It’s kind of funny here. I fully believe we have certain schools within our system doing what youre describing and then certain schools doing opposite.

Ours is symptom based for window dressing but really just frick it we are done with this shite. But to be clear, our system dropped masking requirements altogether
when school started back in August.

Ours is using 10 day if positive, 5 days exposed for unvaxed for vaxed its is 5 and 5 if negative or vaxed. Our nurse is a Covidian though. She tried to shut down basketball and the prom last year. She refuses to let her som play sports even though he begs to do so.

That’s exactly what our system is doing. And I think some of the schools are pursuing quarantining more than others.

We were always mask optional but they’re being retarded about this quarantining . I think a certain element of it is teachers and school nurses mad that they’re having to actually work for a living. There’s no way on our schedules that my wife and I can get our kids to private schools, either. This sucks.

My son had Covid and missed ten days (two weeks). We sent him back Friday. I tested positive on Saturday and now he has to miss another week and a half because he was exposed. He is going to miss damn near a month of school because the sniffles.

Only have one kid left in school (senior). But our school system never followed the guidelines anyway. They stuck with the, "Do you have a fever? Yes? OK. Stay home today and come back tomorrow if your fever is gone." That's pretty much been the norm since they came back from the long Lockout after spring break of '20. That was the norm before covid, too.

Our school system receives government funding but is also set up to receive oil royalties since as far back as I've known, and that's where the majority of funding comes from. Also in a very conservative area, so that plays into it. We don't have teachers who try to teach divisive bullshite because they know better than to even apply... and we don't have a faculty and school board that loses their minds over a highly contagious but highly survivable virus.

My kids ISD has pretty much abandoned any policy.

There is no quarantine for close contact and the only time your kid stays home is if you get tested and actually report the results to the school

Omicron just ripped through my kids schools, where some grades had every teacher out. They basically gave any teacher that tested positive 5 days. To get more you had to provide a positive test on day 6 or come back to school. No paid 10 days.

I would say half the kids Omicron positive still went to school and did not test and report.

Amazingly, there are not piles of dead children
