Summer Caddel told KSAT that her boyfriend, Johnnie Langendorff, watched the gunfight unfold between Kelley and the rifle-wielding resident. She said the neighbor then jumped into his truck and the pair gave chase.
Langendorff later described the dramatic events with local reporters. “I pulled up to the intersection where the shooting happened and I saw two men exchanging gunfire, the other being a citizen of the community,” he said.
“The shooter of the church had taken off, fled in his vehicle, and the other gentleman came and he said, ‘We need to pursue him,’ that he just shot up the church. So that’s what I did. I just acted.”
Langendorff said he hadn’t seen the concerned neighbor before, but knew he was from the area. “I didn’t know him at all,” he explained. “He was just a member of the community, and whenever he came to my vehicle in distress with his weapon he explained very quickly what happened and he got in the truck and I knew it was just time [to go].”
Kelley reportedly had a head start, but that didn’t stop the pair from pursuing him.
“He got a little bit of a jump on us,” Langendorff said, noting how they called police as they were chasing him. “So we were doing about 95mph, going around traffic and everything,” he added. “Eventually he came to kind of a slowdown and after that, we got within just a few feet of him and he got off the road…He just lost control and thats whenever i put the vehicle in park…The other gentleman jumped out and had his rifle drawn on him and he didn’t move after that.”

It really sounds like he died at the wheel. Armed citizen my have hit him. Media won't like that.

The cops already said it wasn't them. They said suicide or the armed citizen. And from what Langendorff says, slowing down and drifting off the road and then not moving....its pretty clear he bled out and died.
If it's confirmed that an armed Passer by shot and killed him, the media is about to absolutely bury this story.

We will probably never learn this man's name. Probably a good thing.

A “mass murdering” weapon called a gun put an end to a mass murder!
Only in America!

A local broke the news on the OT this afternoon, he drove through the area shortly after the pursuit and posted a couple pics in that thread. Little did he know, he caught Langendorff in the pictures he took.

It’s not really a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun when the good guy with a gun got there after 46 people were shot.
Good on him for killing the bastard, but this reminds me of A&M celebrating the goal line stand at 70-0 vs Oklahoma.

He was on his way to killing hundreds more, so it did work.

I mean, kinda, I guess. If you squint and pretend conservatives haven’t argued that if everyone everywhere had a gun, we could prevent all of this.
Texas has some of the loosest gun laws in the country, and they couldn’t prevent this.

no laws will prevent someone absolutely determined
If it's not firearms it will be bombs.
If it's not bombs it will be cars or trucks, etc., etc.

Nobody had a gun in the church which was the problem.
