violent illegal immigrants and repeat offenders (caught here illegally) were not handled properly. Obviously the type that enter illegally aren't going to be the best a country has to offer, if they were they would enter correctly. The mistake was made when repeat offenders kept getting deported instead being made to serve hard time. I contend if they were dealt with justly, they would reconsider coming. Those that commit felonious crimes, even a simple B&E, and especially fraud, should be sentenced to 20 years minimum no parole. Crimes such as rape and more violent should be met with the death penalty, no exceptions. Let the word get out about that and there will be far less coming illegally.

Housing them here might cost more in the long run. I think it might have never become a huge issue if DT didn't use it to scare citizens for votes

I understand why you would say this, but it is not obviously and necessarily true.

That would just create a prison gang system. We need border security. No amount of after the fact punishments will work.

You're right. Usually the absolute best and brightest a country has to offer resort to illegal border crossings.

But a huge issue? Border crossings have been at the lowest they've been in 2 decades

I'm not saying they all are violent and I'm not saying there isn't hard workers that want assimilate in the bunch, I'm just saying that aren't the best citizens their native country has to offer. They should get work visas and come in that way and work for a path to citizenship

Keep trying - you can achieve normal levels of DEM stupidity by the time you hit 200.

I've watched Locked Up Abroad and agree with this. Our penalty is nothing.

Ok..so you think immigration is a national emergency in this country? I think more could be done to improve the system, for sure. But I also think this has all been used as a political tool to motivate voters

send them to G-Mo. Violent offenders should face execution within 6 months of being found guilty

They're good at landscaping so put them to work mowing the highway system with push mowers.

For 20 years.

Then send them back.

The best time for a wall was in the late 1980s or early 1990s. That would have saved this country so much money and most likely would have allowed wages to increase over time rather than stagnate. (Naturally, any big businesses benefiting from subsidized labor were against it).

The second best time is now.
