Nothing. Isolated incidents should never be a reason for sweeping changes to the system.

Okay, so let's reverse things again. Imagine that instead of a mass school shooting there was a major terrorist attack on an airplane. I'll start with recent history, just to make things a bit easier.

April 20, 1999 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 15 children and injuring 21 on the ground in Littleton, CO.

March 21, 2005 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 5 children, 1 teacher, and injuring 7 others on the ground in Red Lake, MN.

October 2, 2006 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 5 children and injuring 5 others on the ground in Nickel Mines, PA.

April 16, 2007 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 32 college students and injuring 17 others on the ground in Blacksburg, VA.

February 8, 2008 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 2 college students in Baton Rouge, LA.

February 14, 2008 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 5 college students and injuring 21 others on the ground in DeKalb, IL.

April 2, 2012 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 7 students and injuring 3 others on the ground in Oakland, CA.

December 14, 2012 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 20 first graders, 4 teachers, a principal, and a school psychologist and injuring 2 others on the ground in Newtown, Connecticut.

October 24, 2014
- Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 4 students in Marysville, WA.

October 1, 2015 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 8 college students, 1 teacher, and injuring 9 others on the ground in Roseburg, Oregon.

November 14, 2017 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 5 and injuring 18 others on the ground in Rancho Tehama Reserve, CA.

February 14, 2018 - Terrorists walk onto a plane with a bomb, Plane explodes, killing 17 students and injuring 14 others on the ground in Parkland, FL.

12 major terror attacks on US soil in 19 years. Would you still think that all of those terror attacks were "isolated incidents"?

I know you're going to deflect and not directly answer my question, going into some tirade about how what I just described is not related and two totally different scenarios and that I'm over-sensationalizing things -- so allow me to tell you to go frick yourself ahead of time.

Averaging less than one every two years or so, I think that's the very definition of an isolated incident.

Direct enough for you?

You're a fricking idiot if you're okay with a major attack every two years on US soil.

Didn't say I was okay with it. Those responsible should face swift and terrible retribution, but the way we live our lives and the freedoms we enjoy should not change.

I had an officer at my school from middle school-high school. I was never once inconvenienced by his presence. Probably because I wasn’t breaking the law on school grounds. But I understand you lefties have made it y’all’s duty to stand up for criminals.

When all guns are banned and some sick fool goes in a school and kills our children then what? Lets ban guns again? Some liberal pos will say " WE need armed security in our schools to protect our children.". If it be with a gun or something else that the killer used. So why not protect our childern now with security? Folks the world has changed, Evil is going to get worse.

Why are you so strongly against students' right to a safe and secure learning environment? What about their rights? What about my right to expect my child to come home after school? I'm sorry, but this shooting was the final straw for me personally. It's been a turning point in my mind. I'm all for the 2nd amendment. I'm not advocating taking away guns. What I'm advocating for is a requirement that all schools have multiple heavily-armed guards/policemen/military members to protect entrances and the interior of schools. Don't tell me we don't have the resources because we do. The National Guard would be an excellent start.

So like 9/11 or the OKC truck bombing? Those isolated incidents didn’t warrant major changes in security protocol?

Yea, ok guy.

Nothing anyone says to this jackhole is going to change his mind. He's going to have to have his "ah ha" moment on his own.

Can you name a single way that having an armed cop on campus would impact you or anyone else’s freedoms?

Because I fail to see how that would even be possible. The school officer usually hangs around the office or makes walks around the campus. They hardly even interact with the students.

We had a race riot at my high school in 1994 and I can't recall a day after that that I didn't see at least one armed officer on campus.

Know what’s an even bigger inconvenience, a person coming into the school and shooting it up killing many.

No cops at my school of about 800. I graduated in the 90's. They did put a police sub-station in the school a few years later though (I assume because of Columbine).

Yup, Columbine kicked all that off. We were banned from wearing black coats (which were in style at the time) after that.

Clothing was a big deal in the 90s. No Raiders gear, No Bulls gear and no White Sox gear. All because of potential gang affiliation.

If we issued a sub machine gun at the school door to every student entering the school for the day we'd have fewer of these massacres.

Let me tell you something. These are MY kids and grandkids in MY local school. YOU don't tell ME jackshit.

In this town WE will do whatever WE deem necessary to keep them safe, including standing in the damned doors with AR15's if that is what it takes. Or hiring extra police officers to patrol the campuses.

And for any of you snowflakes out there reading this, our local elementary school is named after General Lee. It was been for many many years and we see no reason to change it. Nothing you can do about it.

I completely agree.
