Democrats have these additional taxes planned - Netflix and Hulu tax - Amusement tax - Going to the movies tax - Additional sales tax - Sporting events tax - Concert tax - Going to Great America (theme park) tax
Excellent. Taxes that will affect the mind numb young leftists that keep voting for this. If there is going to be a tax. It should hit the people that wanted it.

Another tax, “Capital gains tax on ultra-wealthy right now. But the concern there is, you know, once you start taxing capital gains on the rich, maybe they're gonna start taxing people's retirements or 401(k) 's or pension plans. And it's a real concern.“
So they are or they aren’t currently proposing to tax 401(k) and pension plans?

If the touch retirements, they lose their voter base completely

I bet they also jump on board with Cali for a "one-time" 5% billionaire tax.

I don't think there is any actual 'proposal', just 'concern'.
It will be 'interesting' - currently IL has a 4.95% State income tax. But SS, 401-K/IRA, and pension income is not taxed as income by IL.
But if they decide to tax pension income, the public unions (like the teacher's union) will have a hissy-fit, and claim their pension is IL Constitutionally protected. So would IL tax private pension income, and not tax public pension income? Hmmm.
Note that for IL teachers (and some others), their IL pension is *in place of* Social Security - they don't pay into SS and they get no SS benefits (unless they paid into SS in a different job - then there are other WEP/GPO rules).
