NATO is basically a meaningless alliance for us these days. It was formed to combat the Warsaw Pact countries. Those days are gone so NATO should be gone too. It doesn't benefit us to be a part of it at all.

Provided supporting China is in the best interests of any particular Euro nation, they will choose China's side or stay neutral in any kind of conflict between the USA and China.
And I think that everybody in Wash DC suspects this.
