I'm a retired officer. Tbh I'd probably join their side. But your OP is kind of vague when you say "conservative". Need more context to be definitive.

Understand..I didn't want to use Dem or Rep.
I guess what I mean is if the forces were asked to do something/anything against what they believe the constitution protects

With what I know now, no.
With what I would know back when I was 20, the leadership I had, and my training, yes.
I was in the Army during Kent State riot and shootings. I was in infantry. We were put on standby to go there. I was saddling up to go shoot whoever they told me to shoot.

I believe I would shoot the fat people. I would even do it if ordered to do so.
