This is going to be a very heavily downvoted post, but you aren’t wrong. Anti-war MAGA were furious over the bombing campaign launched by Israel and the limited strikes against their nuclear program. An actual war will destroy his movement.

Look if you think that polling is not a factor, not a data point in internal decision making I don't know what to tell you. Given the fact that polling is an industry and the administration has it's own polling firm is fully illustrative of that fact they consider polling. You may believe some politicians and Trump's decision making is fully absent of public opinion, I don't. To think that Trump or any politician makes decisions absent of public sentiment is putting your head in the sand.
Polling around the Iran issue and how it impacts this administration posture to the Iran issue is the theme of this thread.

I thought I laid out the best and worst case scenario. If this were a Gaussian distribution the the worst and best cases would be laid out on the left and right of the tails respectively. On the tails the probability is extremely low so your characterization as "total fantasy scenario" is somewhat accurate.
