What does need have to do with anything?

I believe you are the one who brought up AR-15s, not me. What purpose does one have for owning an AR-15?

It absolutely matters if you want to have the "people want to ban guns" conversation

So we shouldn’t restrict gun hardware because planes can be flown into buildings or over sporting events? Y’all aren’t even trying to make sense anymore.

Probably what Obama misses the most.

Why? Why does need enter the equation at all?

I don't need a boat. I still have one. I don't need lots of things I have. Need is not an effective argument. Try again.

Irrelevant question. Stick to the original subject please.

So you're not saying people aren't calling to ban guns now? Because certainly you agree they're calling to ban AR-15s and other similar rifles, which most certainly are in fact guns.

Yes it is. You're choosing to throw it out because you don't want to answer the question.

Imagine if the Vegas shooter had instead crashed one of his two planes into the crowd. Probably a lot more dead.

It's not irrelevant. You just don't want to answer it.

Anything worth doing is worth over-doing.

You made the same mistake I did. You assumed they were talking about gun confiscation being effective or not effective. He was simply replying to your "what could be more gruesome that shooting and killing 59 people". His response about a plane is perfectly reasonable.

I don't blame you for being confused. I made the same mistake.

That's not a real answer, but I respect it a hell of a lot more than the dodgers above.

We can have that discussion after you answer my question.

You made the statement that "people aren't coming after your guns."

That is patently false. So why did you make that statement?

I guess I should have said people aren't coming after all of your guns

Intentions matter. Either answer the question or don't, but I'm not gonna play this game with you.

Okay, now that we are past that. Are you gonna answer my question?

Not how it works. If you are trying to limit the constitutionally enumerated rights, the burden falls upon you to describe why an argument is effective.

You ask a question based upon the premise that need is an appropriate limitation on gun ownership. I reject that premise as nowhere in the constituion is need described. So if you want to introduce need into the equation please describe how it fits. I'm not even asking you to apply the strict scrutiny standard the courts would...I am simply asking you to provide a reason why need is considered.
