I was actually thinking I'd just stay in Oklahoma. I'm in Green Country and there's plenty of different terrains all over this area where I could lay low with the kinfolk, find strong defensive positions and also easily live off the land.

If I had to go somewhere more populated, definitely Texas.

If I had to go somewhere other than Oklahoma or Texas, probably the Black Hills of South Dakota or the mountains of West Virginia.

Assuming we don't end up in a hot shooting civil war before then, heading there as soon as my youngest is out of HS. Sooner if the shooting starts. Can't wait.

I'm glad I'm not in Bham any more. I used to worry about making it home if SHTF and I was in Bham and had to make it 130 miles home. Not any more

I live about 1 mile from the Tennessee line and 10 miles from the Mississippi line. Nothing but baws as far as you can see.

I like my chances.

I love Alabama, but I'd feel good pretty much anywhere in the south. Except Georgia.

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a methadone clinic but that's just me.

You have described one of the first places I would go - or somewhere between there and Mobile on 43

@ of my kids are accessible from there - my other in Texas would be accessible if it got bad enough

BUT

we dont have to go anywhere, its a free country if you insist that it is.

What could they do with 80-100 million people insisting that it is free?

Alabama. Move out to the farm full time and turn on the TV and watch the cities burn.

I live on an island on the coast of Georgia. We’d just blow the bridge and be good to go. Plenty of fish and deer. The next island over is loaded with wild horses so eventual transportation is taken care of.
Walking Dead filmed two episodes here so we’ve had some practice. Lol

That's good country.
If the SHTF there is no easy way to get across the Alabama River North bound on I-65 or Hwy 80 without getting killed, except the long way thru Wetupmka, and that's no cake-walk either.
Got one in Philly and one in Thibodaux.
Getting the former back to the camp in one piece would be a challenge.
