Old news, state police and DOT officers have been doing this for a year in southern states.

I recently drove 59S from Corrigan Texas to the Conroe Texas exit! I counted 9 Texas state troopers stationed every 10 miles or so! I can’t say exactly what they were doing, but I suspect it was similar to what the Bama troopers were doing!

While the fourth admendment argument about cargo sounds plausible, in reality law enforcement has always and probably always will check cargo against manifest or load documents. I’ve held a CDL since the eighties and have never known it to be otherwise.
