The quote was from someone who has way more firsthand knowledge of Afghan culture than you or I do. And it may have been intended as an overstatement or exaggeration to make a point.
But even if he’s factually incorrect and there aren’t any tribesmen who would react that spookishly violently over seeing a sophisticated piece of machinery that is very ordinary to us, I think his point is correct.
The point being that the difference in culture is WAY more vast than soft hearted (but thick headed) liberals seem to believe.
That’s why this doesn’t look at all like an Onion Article to anyone with reality in focus.

For a society that engages in widespread Bacha Bazi, beheading someone for showing a Nespresso machine would actually be less batshit crazy.
