They were running an illegal and unethical spy game against a political group; the last person caught up in such had to resign from the Oval Office.
That has nothing to do with the fact that the FBI had the chance to dagger Trump (like Comey did to Hillary on her emails) by telling the NY Times that the Trump campaign was under investigation, and instead, said the exact opposite.

Couldn't have said it better. If we can connect a few dots, release info about ask queries and unmasking, I believe they have a strong criminal conspiracy case. Might even be able to classify some of it under Rico depending on what turns up with uranium one and Clinton Foundation.
