What I am not hearing in then media is any discussion of why. Now, if I were Putin I wouldn't have any concerns about saying publicly what was wrong with HRC's ideas and plans. Maybe he has a problematic reason for not doing so.

Putin had two reasons for wanting Trump to win. One was personal and the other was geopolitical.

He and Trump are involved in some business ventures together. Having your business partner running the biggest economy in the world can't hurt. That's the personal reason.

The geopolitical reason is simple, too. Russia sees the west and NATO as threats, so anything that destabilizes the west and NATO helps Russia. Trump's disdain for NATO and our European allies (notably the UK), and theirs for him, means that his election can only hurt NATO and the west, which is automatically good for Russia.

Trump isn't stupid enough to think Russia didn't do their best to influence the election. He's just being the puppet he always promised to be and always will be by denying it.

It's all in the report.

It goes back to Putin's 2011 election in which an independent election watchdog organization based in Germany I think concluded Putin's election was rigged including things like stuffing the ballot box.

Hillary as SOS was very vocal internationally about the election corruption by Putin. Thousands of Russians protested in the streets and Putin ordered the arrest of thousands of protesters.

Putin explicitly blamed Hillary Clinton for the protest riots and was looking to get revenge for the delegitimization of his presidency.

That's it in a nutshell.

Lots of "probably" and "most likely" in that report

Are you waiting for a polaraoid of Putin wearing a MAGA hat? In the real adult world, "most likely" is the realistic standard on complicated issues. Again, if the situation was reversed, this board would be in flames right now.
