WTF?

First off, very few jobs pay minimum wage nowadays.

Secondly and more importantly, does this idiot have any idea how the economy works? Raising the minimum wage only raises prices. Does he think employers are going to just eat the new cost increases.

Inflation is bad enough Hunter, and you wanna make it worse.

frick off Lundy.

Just saw that he’s running as an independent.

Wasn’t he a Republican previously?

Honestly, it's not the minimum wage. Minimum wage isn't meant to be a livable wage, the issue is the fact that prices are unlivable for most people. People that make a living by siphoning off of the government are living a better life than those that are working for wages between minimum and what is now a livable wage. It's not a new principle, it's been going on forever, but more people fall into the category of working and getting nowhere. I see it every day and it is completely obvious that the middle class is getting considerably smaller.

Lundy actually doesn’t know this. He’s a democrat-populist. He’s basically the 2023 JBE.

True, and I feel for them. But they need to develop skills to make them more valuable in the workforce.

Well to be honest, entry level menial jobs really never got people into the middle class. The world needs ditch diggers also.

So, not the legislative intent behind the passage of the law?

Well bro, anyone that thinks they can make a living on $7.25/hr isn’t very bright.

What should the minimum wage be? I can’t fricking wait to hear this.

Just be warned, you’re gonna get destroyed.

I’ve got news for the $15/hr crowd: that’s $31,200 annually before taxes. You ain’t making it on that in this economy, either.

We need to come up with a better phrase than this. I understand the sentiment but in reality unless you’re Mexican or Guatemalan, etc. no one is digging with shovels nowadays and equipment operators can easily make a decent living by most standards.

No, he was a blue dog democrat but doesn’t like the national party so he’s become an independent. He’s a multi-millionaire trial attorney, so it makes sense.

I mean this will basically raise wages of who?

Fast food workers and grocery cashiers? Pretty sure none of them are paying minimum wage anymore. Plus, more money isn’t going to make them better workers. They work at fricking Burger King. It’s just going to raise menu prices.
