Fox News article
quote:

BUDAPEST, Hungary – Hungary's prime minister says that "Christianity is Europe's last hope" and that politicians in Brussels, Berlin and Paris favoring migration have "opened the way to the decline of Christian culture and the advance of Islam."

Viktor Orban said Sunday during his 20th annual state of the nation speech that his government will oppose efforts by the United Nations or the European Union to make migration acceptable to the world.

He conjured the image of a Western Europe overtaken by Muslims, saying that "born Germans are being forced back from most large German cities, as migrants always occupy big cities first."

Orban claimed that Islam would soon "knock on Central Europe's door" from the west as well as the south.

We support you, Prime Minister Orban.

I dont necessarily think Christianity is the last hope.

But a bit of nationalism and realizing letting your country getting flooded by poorly educated Muslims is a bad thing would help.

The worst thing ever is how so many people accuse you of being racist for not wanting a bunch of inbred 3rd world radicals to invade your modern nations. Ya know what, frick it. If opposing a bunch of mid-60 IQ rapist and rape enablers is racist then I'm the most racist fricking person on earth.

There is no better solution to postmodernism and liberalism than good ol' fashioned religion.

Doesnt help us here though. People from Latin America are largely Catholic and more devout than most Americans probably. But our culture is getting eroded by letting poorly educated non English speaking folks in.

On poli board, I'm accused of being a liberal and an alt trying to troll conservatives by HHTM and other annoying people such as asurob; Salmon thinks I'm either Russian or paid by Russians; on movie board I'm accused of being a racist by simple minded people ogling over a mediocre movie; on gaming board I have this weirdo that literally follows me on every thread I start or post in.

Some people man... you just can't help them.

Probably so, but that's likely because Judaism has never been the core identity of any European nation. However, it's quite obvious to anyone that this is in response to large amounts of Muslim immigrants, not due to any kind of Judaic resentment (though this probably exists to some extent).

While significant LA immigration surely has deleterious effects on our society, they do not compare to allowing in groups that are as explicitly opposed to the existing ethnoreligious order, ala Islamic immigration to Europe.

Our problems with Hispanic immigration are mostly economic in nature, with a little dose of the political due to their voting proclivities. However, they don't have a burning desire to tear down institutions and replace them with their own.

And they're right. Shared religion is the basis for any kind of political solidarity in the ME - nations with pluralities or significant minority religions/sects experience much more discord than ones that are homogenous in that respect. Short of that, absolutist authority of some sort is required to uphold order.

It's almost like saying supporting the 2nd Amendment is the most anti-fascist thing you can do. And yet liberals doesn't want us to have guns. Hmmmmm. Looks like Reagan's prediction was right.

Not saying they are wrong, just noting the similarity. My non believer sensibilities get the best of me when political leadership starts calling for religious zealotry.

The former Eastern Bloc countries over there are the only ones left in Europe that have any sense. They experienced the evils of a godless socialism/communism society.

Oddly enough, the oppression that came from the Politburo inculcated a much stronger sense of place and identity in the subjugated polities than what NATO neoliberal societies ever received.
