The problem with your statement, is that you’re assuming the world had good morals up until now, which is very far from the truth.

Morality across the world, didn’t really come into effect until the US became a country for the most part. Until then, everyone just wanted to kill, frick, and control each other. Then the US and it’s ideas, just started to change how society viewed things and each other. Then once technology started to get advanced, we became better morally but it would only last for a short amount of time, because human nature always comes into effect, and we just have too many advanced things, that can easily kill and destroy. It’s not that we’re becoming less moral, it’s that it takes less to do more in todays world, so it only takes a small group of nuts to commit some serious atrocities. Has nothing to do with religion IMO.
