How will Dems blame Republicans if they eliminate filibuster and control government

For the next generation? A big part of politics is blaming the other side. They can't do that if they pass HR1.

If they eliminate the filibuster then they should be passing everything and not need any excuse.

That's the thing. Once they eliminate the filibuster they know they have to do all the things they ran on. Ideally for them they would use the infrastructure bill as a reason to eliminate the filibuster, then immediately make DC and PR states, then start walking back the filibuster.

Otherwise, they will have to find a Democrat or two that is a lame duck to vote no on things like Medicare for All. Or maybe they just roll with it and take the good with the bad. I dunno. They've obviously done more planning than anyone had previously realized.

There won't be anything to blame them for, because the media will paint everything as sunshine and roses no matter what reality is. And a depressingly large number of people will accept that as the truth.
