She is very socially conservative due to her strict Catholic upbringing, but she pretty much tunes out all political talk. In practice, she mostly votes with me, especially at the local level since I keep up with it more than she does.

Yep that's always the concern. We've decided not to have kids. It could always change but we'd going to hold out for AT LEAST the next 7-8 years when we're in our mid 30's.
