How Many Human Interactions Per Day? Why Does Negativity Rule

I was reading a FB share of a black man being fired. It paints the picture in the number of shares that this is the norm. I was thinking, we have over 300 million people living in the US. Let’s say 200 million are of the age to process human interactions in a somewhat political way. If each of these 200 million interact with 20 people per day and in passing, 40 people per day, why do we let one interaction or several, draw a conclusion?
200,000,000 x 20 = 4 billion encounters per day
200,000,000 x 40 = 8 billion encounters + in passing per day
In a year you can do the math. How can we determine what is the majority? I choose to determine the world around me through my interactions.
I have lived in the south my whole life and between all my encounters and in passing, I would say that 95% of people are worrying about their job, family, friends, and day before them. Yes I have encountered racist people but in the grand scheme of things, it’s incredibly minimal. As a white man, it would imply that other whites would feel comfortable with racist talk in my presence. I can again say, it’s very minimal.

What's your point here? To clarify, is this about the ease to discuss racism, or to discuss negativity?
The title got my attention because i find that most live in a world of negativity. If you really listen to people, most have a negative slant to everything. It drives me up a wall that most come across this way and probably don't even realize it.

What was the post about? Anymore details?

My apologies and thank you for the mature responses. My post was about only seeing negativity on social media and not enough positivity. In this case, a black man was fired and it led to comments and a belief that racism is prevalent. I don’t deny racism exists, just not what the media and social media makes of it.

Gotcha. I agree with this.

Google did the math, 2 trillion, 912 billion interactions + in passing per year. How many are racist? All speculation of course.

Flying on a plane today from San Antonio to Houston. Was working on a Sunday School lesson for tomorrow. Lady beside me struck up a conversation about her concerns about President Trump and his policies towards illegal immigration and how I viewed them as an evangelical Christian. We had a very civil and informed discussion even though it was obvious we had dramatically different political views. It amazing what can occur when people afford each other the dignity and respect due them.

Acceptance and understanding of other people goes a long way in a discussion. People are too quick to pick sides and jump to conclusions. It’s a pride thing.
