My stepdad is a Marine. Most males in my family served at least 4 years in the military - many have full careers. Not all military would fire on civilians and there are plenty of previously enlisted civilians across this country, as well.
That said, plenty in the military would fire upon civilians. This is a really stupid game being played and it's starting to get very stupid.

I scored a 60 on the ASVAB. The only subjects I cared about in school were american and world history and american literature. The math on the ASVAB and all the train a leaves the station and train b leaves the station problems kicked my honky arse. OK Jbird. Yea man. Hahahahahaha, you're really underestimating the top brass. Plus I bet there are quite a few SEAL's and Delta Force pukes that wouldn't have any qualms about putting a 5.56 in mine and any other civilians forehead. A part of me wants it all to happen. I need a good and noble cause to die for. I don't belong here on this earth and I'm ready to go. OK Jbird I read your post history and I like you. You're a good dude. I gotta go buddy.

I've lurked here on tigerdroppings for many years and it was LSU Freeks work that brought me here back in 07. I know it's custom for folks to introduce themselves on the O-T so here i am. "Taking up arms" sounds good on paper, but it takes an organization. You can't just have a few baws from MS in their pickup trucks with hunting rifles. I am not aware of any such organization in existence who would have any success doing this.
I think a better strategy would be one of complete "dropping out" of the system. People refusing to pay taxes on a large scale. People refusing to participate in parts of the economy. People with important government jobs refusing to go to work. People refusing to obey laws on a large scale (they can't arrest everyone). In other words, cause chaos within the system. There's lots of havoc you can wreak without taking up physical arms.
