I played basketball with a guy yesterday whose wife is an ER nurse in New Orleans. She tended to the first case, in a hazmat suit. That is probably as close as I am going to come to it.

All these Boomers on here catch it and it's over for them while they call it a hoax.
Actually , the boomers on here seem to be in a panic about the virus like the millennial soy boys are.
So now poli board boomers and soy boy millennial's have two things in common , lack of common sense and being drama queen's.

How long before someone on here gets the Coronavirus?
Not very likely.
US Population - 308,000,000
Current CV Cases in US - 1,039
.00033% of the population have CV
For argument sake, let's assume PT is only Louisiana posters
Louisiana Population - 4,660,000
Louisiana CV Cases - 6
.00012% of Louisiana residents have CV
Likelihood of someone catching it is very low.

My son's school district is closed down today because someone who attended a volleyball competition held in the gym tested positive for the Corona
That's about as close as we have gotten

It's really difficult to get a made up media fake virus during an Election year.

Not wishing it on anyone. Wondering how long before we have a first hand account of the virus on here.
someone probably already does and doesn't even know

I’m willing to bet that several people that post on this board have already had the virus and either had very mild symptoms or thought they had the flu.
If they didn’t go to a doctor and self medicated there is absolutely no way of knowing.

Corona functions largely like the flu.
This is not the flu, it has a death rate 30 times higher than the flu but the thing that is most concerning is 15-25 percent of people that get it have to be hospitalized or they will presumably die also. That is not like the flu and is the reason governments are taking it so seriously. No country including the US has a hospital capacity that can even take 1 percent of the population all at once.

7 cases in my hometown, Camden S.C. Kershaw county. If it spreads it spreads, there isn't much I can do but wash hands etc. Wife is also a nurse so who knows what might happen there. One of the people affected is a woman I know and she says the symptoms aren't bad as of yet. That is second hand information as i have not talked to her personally. She is in her upper 40's for what it's worth. No mass panic, schools aren't closed, Wal-Marks gots plenty of the butt paper.

well that's good news it isn't bad there. Hey maybe it wont spread as fast or the symptoms wont be as bad as thought, especially since summer is coming. Keep us posted, I'm curious to hear how hospitals and such are handling it.
