By law they were wrong. Both of them and they should be convicted by the military. Warning an adversary of an attack is treason, plain and simple and both should be charged.

I don't believe Esper. One good way to find out - charge him and Milley and see what each of them has to say. Also, 'just following orders' is not sufficient to save Milley.
I'm guessing that Esper heard through the grapevine that Trump plans to recall Milley to active duty and send him to a court-martial, so Esper is trying to run interference.
