Mississippi has some problems but at least they are willing to stand up to the Biden/Harris administration.. and Texas might just seceed from the damn Union

This is not the time for Louisiana to have a Democrat Governor... Dumbell Edwards is going to do whatever his DNC overlords tell him, even if means crippling Oil and Gas... the one good thing Louisiana has going for it

I hope those progressives in New York enjoy paying for 80% of this state to be on Welfare

Tell that to the "Republicans" who elected him.

I agree that Edwards is terrible but what have any of the Republican governors in the last 50 years done worth a shite too?

Jindal, Foster, Roemer...all terrible.

No, but the last 4 years weren’t a terrible time for Louisiana

You could tell JBE feared Donald Trump

Did any of the three raise our taxes and leave nothing to show for the tax increases?

I know Roemer raised the gas tax and much of it went to infrastructure. Did Foster raise taxes? I know Jindal did not.

BTW, the best chance La. ever had to change things and to get off the mat was in the late 60s and early 70s. There was a huge oil and gas boom and EWE squandered it. His constitutional convention locked in the system we have today,

I think Louisiana needs another 2-3 direct hit cat 5's to permanently drive enough of the dependent class to Houston and ATL before we can even begin to try to salvage anything. Apparently one wasn't enough.

It's not that you're incorrect, but I don't like this mentality. They don't matter. We currently have a total piece of shite for a governor and I blame Abraham loyalists for refusing "the other republican" when the runoff came.

Uh, considering 1/3 of our GDP comes DIRECTLY from Oil and Gas, and probably 1/4 of the remaining comes INDIRECTLY from O&G, I'd say pretty fricked. JBE (Jobs Be Elsewhere) is going to raise taxes to meet the state budget, and we'll go back to being the most taxed state besides NY and Cali. Most companies will look to locate HQs elsewhere, and even more jobs will be lost. It doesn't look good for the next 4 years at least.

Fair enough but I will also add that Republicans continue to run the most God awful candidates. Vitter and Rispone? I voted for both of them myself but I can definitely see why others weren't too excited to do the same.

Louisiana is run by trial lawyers. State has been fricked long before Biden/Harris. Go see how much Louisiana grew during the last four years of Trump. It was nominal compared to the rest of the country. Every single other state practically flourished except LA. The only thing that goes up in this state is the State Government spending. Most recent graduates of LSU flee the state and live in Texas. Its a sad state of affairs currently. Local gov needs new blood and the people funding these politicians need to frick off. But that's not happening anytime soon unfortunately.

JBE will be named an ambassador to somewhere soon. Cedric is in charge of LA.

The problem is that your earning class has already decamped to Houston and Atlanta...it's why LA is in a death spiral regardless of the letter after the governor's name.
