Perhaps there is something in the rhetoric from the right that has a tendency to turn off minorities.

Mainly leftist stupidity.

If I say I view people as individuals in todays pc world, im a racist.

I will say that 60-70 years ago, it made a hell of a lot more sense for the black demographic in particular to vote in virtual lockstep. That is no longer the case.

They're actually MORE in lockstep today.

Reminds me of a speech I heard a black activist give in 2017 when she said, "racism is at an all time high" and every black in the room nodded their heads like she hadn't just said something stupid on steroids.

asians mostly live on west coast and are urban dwellers. Living in urban areas correlates highly with voting democratic.

Why are democrats the only major left wing party in the world to lose working class voters?

Blacks across the country vote like drones. Asian populations are concentrated in democratic strongholds.

quick google search

Huge black populations in the Republican, southern states

I don’t know how anybody can look at who blacks vote to represent them and not conclude that they have something seriously wrong with them

Some other numbers to illustrate your unwillingness to think on this subject.

70% was a high water mark. Trying to pretend Asians have been in the same universe of monolith that blacks have been in either shows you are blindingly dishonest or horribly ignorant.

A nationalist fairy god mother showed up on the right, blamed immigrants and promised to return manufacturing to the old glory days. The left is rightly seen as somewhat responsible for moving towards automation and technology along with strongly supporting free global trade...It's understandable in some ways...if not misguided.

Last I checked there isn't a single racial demographic that splits right down the middle.

I never intimated that there was.

quote:

Blacks voting against Republicans is due to the perception that the right has some issues with racism...particularly on the fringes.

And the reality is that the fringes of the left are far more vitriolic when it comes to enforcing how they believe people of different races "should" behave.

quote:

black folks still tend to band together...a particularly useful trait when you make up such a small percentage of the population.

The trait loses its usefulness because blacks are taken for granted as a voting block. Think about it. Do democrats really have to pay anything more than lip service to blacks to ensure the votes will keep on coming? Of course not. They know they got us to the tune of north of 90% the majority of the time. That's insane. That's why ghettos in democrat run cities go generations without ever improving, and the powers that be can be perfectly comfortable to assume they'll be re-elected by the same people to whom they do such disservice. By voting as a reliable block, blacks have abdicated any semblance of voting leverage.

quote:

If black folks at large were split between conservatives and dems their vote would actually be fairly meaningless statistically.

Incorrect. Both parties would have to actually try (and deliver) to sway the block their way. That's when real change occurs. Not when both parties can assume your vote.

quote:

They punch above their weight in terms of influence compared to vote % largely due to their solidarity.

This is not accurate.

quote:

It isn't surprising that this irks conservatives.

It irks conservatives for far different reasons than you believe.

quote:

I'm not ignoring Asians at all, simply continuing the line of discussion I'd already established. You introduced them to twist your own rationale, not me.

quote:

I don't think Django would be too down with your politics...Steven however....

You know what? You can go frick yourself with this bullshite. I'm not up in here calling you some democratic plantation slave or one of Lyndon B. Johnson's "negroes" then turning around and tryna play it off with "keep it light." Give me a goddamn break.

Never said it was the same. I said that all minorities have been voting majority Dem in recent elections and that it makes no sense to isolate your resentment towards black voters. Clearly there is a pattern among all minorities to varying degrees. You seem to have no interest in conjecturing as to why that might be.

You have tunnel vision on blacks and refuse to consider any other reason there might be for the pattern as a whole. Willful ignorance...

You're proving the OPs point and you don't even realize it.

That fact alone should cause you stop for a second and reevaluate your thought process, assuming you're a rational person.

I can tell you just plan to fully ignore the first graph I provided. I don't blame you. I would too. It completely blows the frick out of your theory.

Oh, I have conjecture on it. Identity politics is huge and gotten worse.

But, even that doesn't address my first graph. You were wise to avoid it.

Funny part is, I provided you lock solid proof that it is YOU with this problem. So, you just pretended the graph doesn't exist.

White people have been growing more and more republican in every election since 2000.

Why is that?

Why does the GOP have to look inward to find why it sucks with minorities, but the dems don't have to look inward to find out why they suck with whites?

That's a double standard.

It's gotten well past the point of absurdity. The rhetoric from the left today pretends like Bull Connor himself is roaming the streets of everytown, USA.

No one's saying the US is a racism-free utopia. Nowhere on earth is. But to trot out such rhetoric flies in the face of the downright unprecedented 180 we as a country have done on race relations as a whole (which blacks AND whites fought for btw).
