Interesting dichotomy
Most hilarious dynamic in the office is between me, my closest friend here (a conservative/libertarian hispanic who's also an Aggie), and one of our white coworkers who is a leftist and a longhorn.
He's not able to use his go-to race card talking points and you can see his gears turning upstairs sometimes

When I lived in my last location, I had a very conservative black friend.
It became a bit of a parlor game for me to rope some liberal into going all "you only think that because black black black black" and then he'd interject.
Their brains went all Windows XP.

HailHailto, you are one of the worst right wing posters on here, you do the exact same thing, stfu.

This board's liberal population is a prime example. Look at what cruiserhog, mastrshake, and austintigerdad say about chrisians, gunowners, etc. You see the term "lowest common denominator" used a lot by them.
because its the dullards, the gullible, the uneducated dregs of society that full on still support really shitty people, Trump is a really shite person.

So now you're complaining that the left refuses to be politically correct.
You guys ever going to make up your mind, or do you just love feeling like victims that much?

If Dev thinks that White Americans have a racism towards blacks problem, he's REALLY not going to like how the groups Democrats will be catering to in the next 20 years view blacks.
This brings me to another salient point: the modern left is a caliginous amalgamation of subgroups that band together on the surface, yet have wildly disparate worldviews between each other (blacks/gays/Muslims/transgenders/socialists/etc). It makes you wonder how long they'll continue to hold together, especially if they lose another election or different subgroups start getting downplayed in favor of others for political expediency.

I'm hoping the adults will shut Bernie's hippie arse up and start veering back more center.

It may well be that they're right that Democrats will start to win more as the Demographics change.
What hasn't occurred to current Democrats is that Demographic change will almost certainly also NOT look the same as Democrats today.
Hispanics may well vote Dem because of racial concerns regarding the right. But that doesn't make Hispanics liberals.
Same for Asians.
But what Hispanics and Asians most certainly DO share today are two characteristics.
1. They are MUCH more comfortable having overtly negative views of blacks.
2. They don't have an ounce of white guilt.
So, good luck with that monolith thing. I don't think it's gonna turn out the way people think.
Wait till blacks try to go to a government elected primarily by Hispanics to demand greater diversity defined as "more blacks".
Hispanics be like, "well look plenty diverse over here.....thanks".

Excellent word.
I shall use it.
As for your point ... per usual, you’re spot on—particularly as ethnic subgroups marry and procreate amongst each other and racial lines of demarcation disappear.

I agree, and I voted for Trump.
I didn't vote for him because he's a nice guy. I voted for him because I believed his proposals for policy and direction he wanted to take the country were the superior choice. I don't know where along the line folks decided that politicians were supposed to be avatars for our personal morality. Honestly, I expect them to frick up/be more corrupt than the average person
I actually think Obama is a better person/husband than Trump (race card playing notwithstanding). But I didn't vote for Obama because I thought his policies were way out of whack with my interests and the needs of the country.
