Folks should be thankful federal employees are working without pay and not leaving the government.
Do you know the training costs for Air Traffic Controllers, Border Patrol Officers, Federal LEO's and so forth? These positions can not easily be replaced. Some positions require months of specialized trainings after an extensive background investigations.

Did you not read the part where I said I live in a small town, I make double, by myself, than what the average income for my area is. No, I do not want to move. I have 3 kids that I want to grow up in the same school system that I went to, because it is a great school system.

Wasn't making an excuse, just stating what my situation was. I still have money saved, I can miss a few more checks. After that, who knows. I have a feeling that if the shoe was on the other foot, you wouldn't be saying this right now. If everybody just up and quit, who is going to work the borders, airports, and prisons? Or do you think it will be fine and can handle it's self? You probably work at game stop or some bullshite. Then again you may be the grocery bagger at the nearest publix. That's crazy man. I swear my last check stub said federal and state withholdings. Kind of like they took taxes from me, but it seems like they should have only done that to you. Tell me, what do you do for a living? I'm a correctional officer for the bureau of prisons. We don't need people like me though, do we? We could just let the inmates stay in the prison with no staff, they wouldn't dare try to escape would they?

I work around murderers, drug dealers, and child molesters. To keep them behind a fence, so they don't repeat what they did. All without getting a paycheck right now.

Personally, I’d collect unemployment (have to pay back). Hang out in front of Home Depot (have to claim for taxes, but don’t pay back). And on days when not picked up at HD, I’d be walking in front of my government work place with a sign that reads:
Democrats PAY for the wall and PAY me. For my FAMILY.

News flash. Stop getting info for prisons from mainstream media like CNN, all prisons don't have contraband problems the same. Ours actually doesn't have that many drugs. By the way, not all correctional officers are corrupt. I make enough money I don't have to be.
