Salmon lectured us on the OT this morning about how this is an impossibility and that none of these event will affect the population of Seattle

That’s why we’re leaving the West Coast and heading to Texas. When it comes to talent, we’re confident we can attract the best without finding the same homogeneity of views. When it comes to housing, families making $100,000 to $200,000 a year can afford a good-size place. The policy environment in Texas encourages risk-taking and rewards workers. When it comes to schools, there are plenty of great options that don’t confuse indoctrination with education. And on matters of faith and morals, religious belief doesn’t make you a social outcast. In Texas, the quintessential American ideals of family, faith and freedom still reign supreme.

These fricking locust. Only thing they’re going to do is bring that trash arse mindset to another area. Talk a great game about freedoms, but wait till one of these arseclowns gets on the school board. And make no fricking mistake they will. Like a fricking virus they will infect and spread their brand of horse manure amongst the good people of Texas. Infiltrating local politics till oopsie we’ve got a council, school board, etc full of these scum. Fricking F

home sellers looking to leave the Seattle metro area has jumped to 13.7%, compared with 11.2% at the same time last year.

Meanwhile, the net outflow of homeowners from Seattle has soared from 363 in the second quarter of last year to 6,007 in the second quarter of this year - a jump of more than 1,500%.

Does this also not make sense to anyone?

Don't know. We have putt's on this board who will tell you Seattle is a lovely place.

Don't see them chiming in on this article though. It's a shitehole city today.

My quick analysis tells me:
> 13.7 - 11.2 = 2.5%
> 6,007 - 363 = 5,644
Thus 5,644 = 2.5%, meaning there are 225,760 total homeowners.

Seattle's 2018 population was 730,400, so that figure is reasonable.

ETA: actually, I think I see what you mean. How could 11.2 % be 363?? Yea, ok, I withdraw my quick analysis

I don’t get the metric. If they sell a house isn’t someone else just moving in? Not sure how that creates net outflow unless they are tearing down those houses for use in commercial or public space developments.

But progressives will always go for another urban area.. They like to drink soy, but have no idea how it's grown or where. They cannot survive in rural America..

Its complicated, sure, but if 1/3 of the houses are bought by former apartment-dwellers or house-renters (already residing in Seattle), that is a sizable outflow, and hikes the vacancy rate.
