There are roughly 1,300 fires per year in places of worship.
That works out to 25 per week.

It was an old building, formerly a church known as the Friendship Baptist church, which has sat vacant for many years, likely rotting away from neglect and druggies/homeless vagrants, who likely set in fire.

It happened early Friday morning. The church had been vacant for years and had trouble with vandalism and trespassing. It started life as a Jewish synagogue and eventually became a Baptist church. It had 40 members in 2015 before it eventually closed. Not sure who owns it now.
