The correct move is to shut their mouth and just operate as usual. They screwed up with this note and memo.

Hilton literally just issued a statement.

They're sorry.

This is most likely a single hotel making this call and THEY should be

I think it's the operator of "Evergreen Hotels", not necessarily Hilton. But that's the risk of having your name on a sign. The booking data and knowledge that they were ICE agents booked with a corporate code came from a Hilton ERP system. But the hotel owner took the action, and may end up with franchise problems because of this.

Courtyards are generally well maintained and in better locations. They are my 1st choice too.

If Hilton doesn't punish them, then it's on Hilton. Right now it's on the idiots that made the initial call and thought it wouldn't backfire on them.

Put them out of business. Hilton won't complain.

Gunther is a dishonest click bait POS that is only trying to generate traffic.

He's saying something backfired on Hilton that they didn't approve of and have said they are investigating and you're ignoring Hilton doesn't own this hotel. These people didn't have corporate permission to deny ICE, they did it on their own.

Hampton Inn used to actually be a decent option if you just had to go in and out of a smallish city/town for one night. They've just gotten shittier and shittier over the past several years, though. I stayed at one in Birmingham/Mountain Brook recently that was probably the most disgusting place I've ever stayed, and I once stayed at the old Texas Motel on Airline Highway.
