Hey Senator Cassidy, Every Mention of Impeachment in the Constitution for Your Reference

I'm not a Constitutional scholar, but I have used English every day for many decades. I am familiar with the language. How in the hell does anyone, especially a Senator with a medical degree, deduce from the following this impeachment is constitutional?!

The quotes below are every mention of the word "Impeachment" in the US Constitution:

quote:

The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.


quote:

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.


I've always understood "shall" as a nonnegotiable requirement?

Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.


Shall again. How do you remove someone from office who is not in Office?

Again, he is out of Office.

The Trial of all Crimes, except in Cases of Impeachment, shall be by Jury; and such Trial shall be held in the State where the said Crimes shall have been committed; but when not committed within any State, the Trial shall be at such Place or Places as the Congress may by Law have directed.


If the Government wants to charge citizen Trump with treason, it should be by jury.

I think the filth knows, believes or whatever word you want to use that Trump is still indeed in office and holds more power than any other group in the country.

The charge would be in DC because that's where this alleged "treason" took place. Do you really want a "jury of his peers" to be chosen from the lunatics residing in DC?

Perhaps they know (they do) that TRUMP is still The President, so if they impeach him, or once Biden admits he lost, they will say it does not matter because TRUMP was impeached.

The fact Chief Justice John Roberts isn’t presiding over it when the constitution clearly states the Chief Justice “Shall” tells you all you need to know.

It’s political theater to keep bantering about “insurrection” because they are terrified of more voter fraud information coming to light.

What's funny is on one hand they argue Roberts not presiding isn't a problem because Trump isn't president anymore. But on the other hand, they also say they can impeach and convict him even though he doesn't hold office anymore when removal from office the relief available for a conviction. Their only rebuttal is "the farmers herp, derp didn't intend for herp, derp." Maybe the framers meant what is written, and maybe they need to actually follow the letter of the Constitution instead of trying to figure out the unwritten intentions of people 250 years ago. But, hey, if we are going to talk about the framers intention. The framers didn't believe in a large federal government and also didn't believe in censoring free speech, using impeachment as a power move to strike down the political opposition, or any of the multitude of bastardizations of the Constitution we continue to see with each passing year.

But, as we all know, they won't have the votes to convict; however, they will relish in the political theater of it all at expense of millions of tax payers dollars. It's not like actually serving the people of this country is important or anything.

Try combining "shall not" and "infringed" and see what happens. Dems cancelled constitution.
